How to disable insecure cryptographic algorithms in the Java runtime for NuGenesis LMS - WKB233367

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Disable algorithms in the Java runtime that have been found to be cryptographically insecure.

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 LMS
  • Java 8 x86 update 152

PROCEDURE

1. Edit the following file in Notepad:
   • Drive:\WatersLMSServer\java\jre\lib\security\java.security
2. Look for the line: jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms.
3. Ensure that deprecated protocols/algorithms such as SSLv3 and MD5 are in the list.
4. Save and close the file.
5. Restart the NuGenesis LMS Server service.
