Uninstallation of a NuGenesis component that utilizes the RPC Service causes co-resident RPC Service utilizing components to malfunction - WKB219513

SYMPTOMS

• Multiple NuGenesis components are installed on the same computer, and they all utilize the RPC Service
• After uninstalling any of those components, no NuGenesis RPC Service-related functionality operates properly
• Reinstallation of the removed component does not fix the RPC Service functionality

ENVIRONMENT

NuGenesis 9.1

CAUSE

The NuGenesis Unify, SDMS Application Server, SDMS Administrator, and File Capture components uninstaller remove the RPC Service related files/settings required by all these NuGenesis components. However, the Unify, SDMS Application Server, SDMS Administrator, and File Capture component installers install only the subset of RPC service files/settings required by the NuGenesis component being installed, leaving the others non-functional because they are missing required RPC related files/settings.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Uninstall all co-residing SDMS components that utilize the NuGenesis RPC Service, and then reboot the computer and reinstall them all.
