How to reinstall the PDF printer for NuGenesis LMS - WKB20255

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

When the LMS Web server components are installed but the WatersLMS PDF Printer is missing, reinstall the printer from components in the IIS folder.

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 8 ELN SR1
  • NuGenesis 8 LMS FR1
  • NuGenesis 8 LMS SR2

PROCEDURE

NuGenesis 8 ELN SR1:

Browse to the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\WATERSELN\bin folder (assuming that inetpub is in the default location and not moved to another drive or folder). Run the following command in a command prompt with Admin privileges:

C:\inetpub\wwwroot\WATERSELN\bin\Install.exe -l "WatersELN PDF Printer" -n "Waters GmbH" -c "07EFCDAB01000100E042032FFB2EC8BF5533DC503F908C3DAE1178DBF9B84AE79A718837AF32979B332BC2107A0482418031F8B7BA71EE48E3D08F19D5F941"

A dialog box should appear showing the progress of the Amyuni printer installation. If the installation is successful, close the dialog box and go to the Devices and Printers control panel to confirm the presence of the printer.

NuGenesis 8 LMS FR1 or SR2:

In FR1 and SR2, the parameters for the Install.exe program are not necessary. Simply run C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\WATERSLMS\bin\Install.exe with Admin rights. It takes the license name and activation code from the file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\WATERSLMS\bin\Install.ini.

To manually enter the license information, copy the following information into the printer properties for "WatersLMS PDF Printer":

Licensed to: Waters GmbH

Activation code: 07EFCDAB01000100E042032FFB2EC8BF5533DC503F908C3DAE1178DBF9B84AE79A718837AF32979B332BC2107A0482418031F8B7BA71EE48E3D08F19D5F941

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The license code above activates the PDF printer for use only by the ELN or LMS server. It is not licensed for use by any other program. Attempting to print to this printer from any other program will result in a "printer not activated" error message.
