How, and when, does NuGenesis LMS upload basic objects to the Stability database? - WKB19053
ENVIRONMENT
- NuGenesis 9 LMS
- NuGenesis 8 LMS
ANSWER
Many objects in NuGenesis LMS map to equivalent objects in the NuGenesis Stability database. LMS uploads the objects to Stability on an as-needed basis by triggering an "upload" job when a user creates and saves or approves the object in LMS. The NuGenesis LMS Job Manager service executes this upload job. These jobs do not run continuously, unlike the background jobs listed in the LMS System Configuration > Background Processing page. They run only when an object is created or approved in LMS. The system notifies users by email and by a message in the LMS Inbox should errors occur during the upload process. The list of users who will receive notifications is set at LMS System Configuration > External systems > Stability.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
There are several job types for the SLIM object upload jobs. These jobs are not shown in the LMS client. They are shown in the NuGenesis LMS Background Jobs Management tool (as provided on the NuGenesis 9 LMS Option Kit). These job types are used for the transfer of LMS objects to Stability:
- UPLOADLOCATION: Locations
- UPLOADPRODUCT: Products
- UPLOADSAMPLETEMPL: Sample Templates
- UPLOADSLIMRESULTS: Results
- UPLOADSPECIFICATION: Specifications
- UPLOADTESTCATEGORY: Test Definitions
- UPLOADUSER: User accounts
