How to retrieve UNIFY spool files in order to reprint on another SDMS system - WKB13404

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Retrieve copies of a printed report so that the report can be printed on another system for troubleshooting purposes.

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 SDMS
• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• NuGenesis 7.x SDMS
• UNIFY

PROCEDURE

1. Pause the UNIFY printer:
   • Open the Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
   • Select the UNIFY printer, right-click the printer, and click "See what's printing".
     • If more than one UNIFY queue is installed, there will be a submenu under "See what's printing"; click the appropriate printer name on this submenu.
   • Click the Printer menu > Pause Printing.
2. Print the desired report to UNIFY.
3. Retrieve the files .SHD and .SPL from the spool folder C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.
4. Delete the files .SHD and .SPL within the spool folder and resume the UNIFY printer.
