Cannot uninstall the NuGenesis SDMS Service Release Components - WKB13329

SYMPTOMS

• The following error message appears when uninstalling the "NuGenesis Service Release Components v8.0" or "NuGenesis LMS Service Release Components " entry from the Programs and Features control panel:

  • "You must uninstall all other SDMS applications prior to uninstalling Template Components"

• Silent uninstallations or installations of SDMS software fail and have a status of "FAILED" in the log files

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SDMS SR2
• NuGenesis 8 SDMS FR1
• NuGenesis 8 SDMS SR1

CAUSE

Other NuGenesis SDMS software components are still present on the machine, or some registry keys remain after uninstalling all other SDMS software.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. The "Service Release Components" must be the last piece of SDMS software to be uninstalled.
2. Uninstall all other NuGenesis SDMS software components.
3. If the message persists and the "Service Release Components" is the only SDMS item left in the Programs and Features list, then check the following registry key:
   • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NuGenesis Technologies Corp.\NuGenesis\8.0\Installed Apps
4. Each SDMS component has a subkey under "Installed Apps". Delete all subkeys except "NuGenesis 8 Components".
