SYMPTOMS

Error in the alert log in NuGenesis databases:

• ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [pesldl03_MMap: errno 1 errmsg Operation not permitted
• ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "ELNPROD.MEASUREORDERUPDATEINDEX"

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9.1
  • Oracle Database 19c running on Linux
• NuGenesis 9.0
  • Oracle Database 12c or 19c running on Linux

CAUSE

Oracle document 1625010.1 describes an issue in the database that can occur when compiling PL/SQL code on Linux databases in 11.1 and later versions. The issue is with a special file in the Linux file system, /dev/shm, when that file is set to read-only.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Refer to Oracle document 1625010.1.
2. The note describes the steps needed to resolve the issue. It is recommended that the database be restarted after making the changes to /dev/shm, even though the Oracle document does not mention it.
