Article number: 9960

SYMPTOMS

  • Needle moves correctly to position 1
  • With position 11 set in the sample list, the needle moves to position 34
  • Software was recently reloaded by a service engineer
  • Found: plate numbering is 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, and so on
  • Plate numbering should be 1-8, 9-16, 17-24, and so on

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY H-Class Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle (SM-FTN)
  • MassLynx 4.1
  • MassLynx 4.2

CAUSE

The "Horizontal first" setting is not selected in the plate generator.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Open the inlet method.
  2. Go to ACQUITY Sampler > Bed Layout.
  3. On the Bed tab, click on Edit Plates. (Take note of the plate name.)
  4. Go to ACQUITY Sampler > Plate Generator.
  5. Using the Next Plate button on the tool bar, locate the plate with the name noted in step 3.
  6. Confirm the Horizontal First setting in the Priority section.
  7. Save plate settings.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Alternatively, the user can copy the Plates and Racks folders located in the C:\MasslynxBackup folder and paste them in the current C:\Masslynx selecting YES to the questions regarding overwriting the existing files.

Note: The Plates and Racks folders hold the files that define the bed layout and the plate definitions. Replacing the new Plates and Racks folder in the current Masslynx folder with those from the MasslynxBackup folder will reset the plate definitions and bed layout to the setting from before software was reloaded or upgraded.
