MassLynx gives the error "The file .EXP could not be opened. Check the file exists and is not read only" when trying to start a run - WKB99748

SYMPTOMS

• Run will not start
• "The file .EXP could not be opened. Check the file exists and is not read only" error appears

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx

CAUSE

Either no method was entered in the MS Method column, the MS Method (.exp) being used was deleted or renamed or is not saved in the ACQUDB Folder.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Ensure that the MS Method column is showing on your sample list.
2. Ensure that a method is in the MS Method column for each sample.
3. The MS Method should be saved in the ACQUDB folder of the same project in which you are currently running samples

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Note: Do not subdivide the folders with the MassLynx project as MassLynx looks for files to be saved is very specific locations.
