Inlet Editor MFC application error when opening the inlet method - WKB91462

SYMPTOMS

• Inlet Editor does not open or a tiny window only appears
• Inlet Editor MFC application error when opening or closing the inlet method

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx
• Antiviraus (e.g. TrendMicro, Cortex)

CAUSE

Antivirus is installed and blocks the application.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Local IT checks if exclusion of application folders from antivirus scanning according to WKB21150 can restore software functionality.
2. If not, local IT must uninstall antivirus system.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Note: TrendMicro issued an update in August 2024 that blocks MassLynx inlet editor from opening correctly. The update from Trend Micro resolved this.
