Error installing MassLynx - unable to install xxxx.dll - WKB8016

SYMPTOMS

• Installing MassLynx from network drive as PC does not have a DVD drive
• After Java installation the installation fails with error message  "Unable to install MFC42.dll"
• Cannot register dll manually
• Cannot proceed with installation

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx
• Networked PC
• MassLynx installation software on server

CAUSE

MassLynx installation was not stable when loaded from network drive

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Copy the MassLynx software folder / DVD information to a location on the PC
2. Install the software from the local drive
