Article number: 80327

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Configure OAToolkit to move or copy raw data files, report files, and/or batch files (*.OLB) to a remote server location (in the same domain).

ENVIRONMENT

  • MassLynx
  • Windows 10
  • OAToolkit

PROCEDURE

  1. Install OAToolkit.

  2. Add users as required.

  3. Determine the locations of the folders to which the files will be moved (e.g., ServerA\OALoginData).

  4. Ensure that these folder locations are shared appropriately.
Note: You may need the assistance of a Domain Administrator to configure this.

To move or copy the batch files (*.OLB) to a remote location after processing:

  5. In OAToolkit, select Options > Batch File Processing….

  6. Choose how to relocate the files (Move, Copy, or Delete).

  7. In Directory, browse to the location to which the batch files will be moved.

NOTE: Do not use a mapped drive letter. Use the actual server/drive name.

Configure the OAToolkit service:

  1. Close OAToolkit.
  2. On the PC, browse to Services.
  3. Locate the "OALogin Post Data Processing’ Service".
  4. Right-click and select Stop to stop the service.
  5. Right-click again and select Properties.
  6. On the Log On tab, select
    Log on as:  This account:
  7. Enter the account details of a user account that has access rights to all the server locations.

We recommend that this be a Domain Administrator account owing to the following:

  • The account will have access to the server/shared drives.
  • The password will not need to be renewed every three months.

  4. The service should now move or copy any files once an OLB file appears in the folder C:\MassLynx\OALogin\Batchdb\Processed.
