SYMPTOMS

IQ Checker reports "fail" for all or some components during installation of MassLynx SCNs with "Create date" error
Fails seen when running the IQ Checker manually (Start > Programs > MassLynx > IQ Checker) with create date as the fail reason
All the results might be red / FAIL or some of the results show green pass and some of the results fail
The IQ Checker used to fail if the time zone of the PC's clock was set to anything other than Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) or UTC+0:00 however it has been seen to fail even when set to UTC +00:00
IQ checker seems more likely to fail if the PC location is not in Europe or North America
Installation Qualification Checker log might show
List of files e.g. C:\MassLynx\dBRIDGE.EXE FAIL Create Date
Setting the time zone to GMT might not fix the issue if the location causes the date to change - e.g. South Korea time zone fails on GMT

ENVIRONMENT

CAUSE

The issue is caused by the interaction between the operating system and the MassLynx IQ Checker when the system time zone is changed; it is not related to the MassLynx installation itself.

A mismatch between the PC's current date/time and the date/time when the software was installed can cause failures, particularly when changing the time zone also changes the system date (for example, 5:00 PM in the UK (GMT) becomes 1:00 AM the following day in South Korea (GMT+9)).

The issue may occur if the time zone is not set to one of the following:
(UTC +00:00) Dublin, Edinburgh Lisbon, London), (UTC -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) or (UTC -08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada),

FIX or WORKAROUND

Before installing:
Before installing any software, set the PC time zone to the one closest to the customer location:
(UTC+00:00) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London
(UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
(UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada)

Install MassLynx with all the required software options.
Run the MassLynx IQ checker at the end of installation and confirm that all files pass via Start > Programs > MassLynx > IQ Checker.
If requested to do so by the customer, reset the PC clock to the local time zone
Running IQ Checker at any point after installation:
Set the PC time zone to the one closest to the customer location:
(UTC +00:00) Dublin, Edinburgh Lisbon, London), (UTC -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) or (UTC -08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada)
Run the MassLynx IQ checker
Reset the PC to the local time zone
