OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Trigger a Waters MS to start an acquisition via contact closure in MassLynx.

PROCEDURE

Open the MassLynx inlet method.
Go to Tools > Instrument Configuration.
Click the Events and Triggering button.
Click NEXT on the first page of the wizard.
On the Choose Events page of the wizard, select Event In 1.
At the end of the wizard, click Finish. Click Finish to close the instrument configuration.
Connect a contact closure cable from Inject Start out of the autosampler to Event In 1 on the back of the MS.
On the sample list, in the Inlet Method column, type the word Default.
