MassLynx will not open; multiple errors including "Error 1334" and "Error 1904" - WKB68781

SYMPTOMS

• Mistakenly tried to install an SCN patch on MassLynx when it was already installed
• Pressed Cancel halfway through the installation
• MassLynx no longer opens
• Cannot remove the patch as it is part of MassLynx installation
• Cannot repair MassLynx (not a supported practice)
• Multiple, repeating error messages, including "Error 1334 The baseclasses.out1 cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'" and
  "Error 1904. Module C:\MassLynx\SatinServer.dll failed to register HRESULT -2147220473"
   

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx

CAUSE

The patch installation registered too many new files and cannot be canceled.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Remove and reinstall MassLynx and the patch.
