2998 PDA "not connected" error in MassLynx - WKB68230

SYMPTOMS

• 2998 PDA is configured in MassLynx
• Inlet editor OK and ready lights both green
• Additional Status tab shows 2998 "not connected"

ENVIRONMENT

• 2998 Photodiode Array Detector
• MassLynx

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Close MassLynx and associated windows.
2. Run StopMassLynxProcesses.
3. Open Waters DHCP Server Configuration from C:/Program Files (x86) / Waters Instruments folder.
4. Remove the 2998 from the DHCP server.
5. Power cycle the 2998 PDA.
6. Ensure that the 2998 PDA repopulates in the DHCP server screen.
7. Start MassLynx and confirm that communications are now OK, including in the Additional Status tab.
