Incorrect function shown in the TargetLynx Chromatogram window - WKB44648
SYMPTOMS
- The Chromatogram window in the TargetLynx browser sometimes shows the wrong trace
- It shows the chromatogram for a function that was not requested in the method
- The incorrect trace is also printed in the Samples Report, the Compounds Report, and the Sample Template Report
ENVIRONMENT
MassLynx 4.1, TargetLynx and QuanLynx, all SCNs
CAUSE
Bug.
If TargetLynx cannot find a peak in the specified function, and in the method the same mass is specified in a different function, it attempts to find the peak in the different function. If it finds a peak, the incorrect trace is displayed and printed. However, this is only a chromatogram display issue; the numerical results in the Summary Table are unaffected.
FIX or WORKAROUND
The workaround is to disable the option "Show All Peaks".
The bug has been reported to development.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This problem occurs only under the following circumstances:
1. The same mass has been specified in more than one function.
2. The peak is not found in the specified function.
3. The display option "Show All Peaks" is selected (right-click on the Chromatogram window and, in the Style area, scroll down to the "Show All Peaks" option).
The problem can affect both the primary trace and the target ion traces.
