Multiple errors installing MassLynx 4.1 SCN 937 on a desktop and laptop - WKB4149

SYMPTOMS

• Error: Unable to write to file/folder during installation
• Unable to open projects after software installation
• Installer asks for Administrator credentials during installation
• Found: Desktop PC has Windows 7 Enterprise
• Found: Laptop PC has Window 10

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.1 SCN 938
• Windows 7 Enterprise
• Windows 10

CAUSE

MassLynx 4.1 is not supported on Windows 10 or Windows 7 Enterprise.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove MassLynx from PC.
2. Install supported operating system: Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit Service Pack 1.
3. Reinstall MassLynx.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The revisions of MassLynx 4.1 compatible with Windows 7 are only supported on Window 7 Professional 64 Bit Service Pack 1. MassLynx 4.1 is not supported on Window 7 Enterprise, Windows 8, or Windows 10.
