MassLynx results not displayed properly due to missing Plate Description - WKB323867

SYMPTOMS

• OpenLynx browser and FractionLynx browser do not show the correct plate layout
• Processed data does not display properly when being reviewed
• The sample plate description is not recognised when displaying results files. 
• MassLynx does not populate the plate description field in the header.txt file (header file is empty for plate description)
• The file shows
  $$ Plate Desc:
• Seen in MassLynx 4.2 SCN 1050 and SCN 1051

ENVIRONMENT

CAUSE

Incorrect Autosampler type entry in the MassLynx.ini file. Reported in CRI-9443

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. CRI-9443 will be fixed in SCN 1052 until then use the simple workaround.
2. Workaround: Correct the Autosampler type information in the MassLynx .ini file as follows:
3. Configure the required inlet with an Autosampler (or verify the existing setup) and save the inlet method.
4. Close all MassLynx applications to ensure no processes are accessing the configuration file.
5. Edit the MassLynx.ini file:
6. Navigate to C:\MassLynx. 
7. Open the MassLynx.ini file using Notepad.
8. Modify the [Acquisition] section:
9. Locate the line that starts with LCAutoSamplerType=.
10. Update this value to the correct Autosampler ID* according to the reference table (ensure you are selecting the proper ID corresponding to your configured Autosampler type).
    
11. Save the changes to the MassLynx.ini file and close it.

12. Relaunch the MassLynx.
    

13. Note: The above steps 1-11 must be repeated whenever changing any components of inlet system configuration or when creating a new inlet system configuration.
    e.g. After adding a PDA detector or changing the autosampler or pump.
