SYMPTOMS

Sample run stops after 10-20 injections (30 min)
Error message "Waters Alliance 2695 Communication Error at address 4. GPIB error. Unknown IEEE488 error code"

Power saving on the PC is set to sleep after 30 minutes.

Set PCs to "never sleep" (see "Additional Information" on how to configure power settings in Windows 7).

The problem occurred when new user accounts were set up on the PC. The new user accounts reverted to default PC settings.

To configure the Power Options in Windows 7:　

1. From Windows Control Panel, click System and Security > Power Options.　

Alternate: From the Search Programs and Files, type Power Options.　

2. On the Power Options page, click Show additional plans, select High performance, and 　

then click "Change plan settings".　

3. On the Edit Plan Settings page, perform these tasks, and then click Save changes:　

Select Never from the "Turn off the display" field.　

Never from the "Put the computer to sleep" field.　

4. On the Edit Plan Settings page, click "Change advanced power settings".　

5. In the Power Options dialog box, complete these tasks, and then click OK.　

Expand Hard Disk and "Turn off hard disk after". Type Never in the Setting (Minutes) field　

Expand Sleep: 　

Sleep after: Never 　

Allow hybrid sleep: Off 　

Hibernate after: Never　

Allow wake timers: Disable　

Expand USB settings and set "USB selective suspend" to Disabled　

Expand Display and set "Turn display after" to Never
