Source pressure test failure after cleaning the cone - WKB29091

SYMPTOMS

• Source pressure test failure
• Analyzer vacuum failure
• Found: system is vented
• Found: cone maintenance performed; cone reinstalled shortly before vacuum failure

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ-XS

CAUSE

Sample cone is not seated properly.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Close the isolation valve.
2. Start the vacuum system.
3. Allow to pump for 1 hour with the isolation valve closed.
4. Open the isolation valve.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

When the isolation valve is open, the vacuum draw will pull the cone into a better-seated position.

Do not leave the instrument in Operate with the isolation valve closed.
