ANSWER
In the ACQUITY Console, highlight the column manager in the system tree on the left-hand side.
Go to Configure > eCord Preferences and select "Permit sample set operation when eCord is not found".
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I Button will blink red if eCord is enabled. Green= plugged in, off = empty, red blinking = column selected but no eCord is attached
