Article number: 2631
SYMPTOMS
- MS is missing from the console
- Rebooted everything, but MS still does not show
ENVIRONMENT
- MassLynx reinstalled
- ICOP
- QDa with any MS
- MS Console
CAUSE
MassLynx was removed and reinstalled, but the ICOPs were not modified.
ICS/ICOPs must be uninstalled if MassLynx is reinstalled.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Log on to the PC as an Administrator.
- Change the inlet configuration to none.
- Remove the ACQUITY modules from control panel Add/remove programs.
- Run StopACQUITYProcesses.cmd.
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Waters Instruments and rename DHCP.xml to *_old.
- If you are unable to rename the file, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Right-click and stop both WatersFileService and Waters DHCP Service. You may need to right-click Waters DHCP Service, select Properties, and then disable (in Startup type) before you can stop it. Then rename the DHCP.xml file.
- Reboot the PC.
- Configure the inlet and load Instrument Control Software.
- Reboot the MS and ACQUITY modules.
If this does not work for some reason:
- Perform steps 1 through 4.
- Remove MassLynx.
- Delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\Micromass Utilities folder.
- Restart the PC.
- Reinstall MassLynx.
- Configure the inlet.
If there are still issues:
- Run StopACQUITYProcesses.cmd.
- Run C:\Program Files (x86)\Micromass Utilities\ICOP\sources\Support Files\ICSCompanionSetup.exe.
- Reboot the PC.
