CAUSE

Software defect CRI-3822

The error "Failed to turn ESP source gas on" happens because the Source Gas On task is missing from the drop-down list but present in the method.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Fix:
This is fixed for all supported Quadrupole instruments in SCN 1043.

It is also fixed for SYNAPT G2-S and Xevo G2-S QTof.

Workaround:
The Source Gas On and Off options appear in the drop-down list if you do one of the following:

  • Acquire a sample.

  • Toggle the ion mode on the tune page before running the Startup.

Note: The problem returns if MassLynx is restarted.
