Unable to ping network card - WKB232324

SYMPTOMS

  • Instrument lost communications
  • DHCP server does not populate with instrument information
  • Unable to ping network card at address 192.168.0.1 -t, even though it is set correctly for instrument LAN
  • Pinging network card shows transmission error and incorrect IP address in the command window

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY system

CAUSE

Network card is communicating with an incorrect IP address.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Set Instrument LAN to obtain IP address automatically.
  2. Use DHCP server wizard to force PC to set new IP address.
  3. Confirm that IP address is set correctly for Instrument LAN.
  4. Ping 192.168.0.1 -t and check for a response.
  5. Reboot all instruments and verify that DHCP server populates correctly.
  6. Confirm that software can now communicate correctly with instruments.
