CAUSE

Plates are not properly defined.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Take precise measurements of the dimensions of the plate to be used.
2. Click the Inlet Method button in MassLynx.
   
3. In the Inlet Method editor window, select the Acquity Sampler drop-down menu and choose Plate Generator.
   
4. Scroll to the plate that most closely matches the plate definitions you want to use by clicking the Next Rack button.
   
5. Modify the information to match the precise dimensions of the plate to be used.
6. Save the rack when finished.
