Error when launching OALogin: Login window already open on "PC name" - WKB2062

SYMPTOMS

• Cannot open OALogin window
• Error message "A login window is already open on "PC Name"

ENVIRONMENT

• Windows 7
• Windows 10
• MassLynx
• Masslynx V4.2 SCN 971
• OpenLynx
• OpenAccess
• OALogin

CAUSE

A) OALogin window is already open on the PC, and multiple instances of OALogin were disallowed (in which case, close the OALogin window on this PC, and then you can open another).

B) The OALogin.lck file is still present (OALogin crashed or was shut down incorrectly).

FIX or WORKAROUND

If there are not multiple OALogin windows open:

1. On the MassLynx PC go to C:\MassLynx\OALogin\Batchdb. If empty, navigate to the OALogin\Batchdb folder in the current Project folder opened in Masslynx.

2. Delete the OALogin.lck file.

3. It should now be possible to start OALogin.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If the user wishes to turn off this functionality (Prevent Multiple OALogin windows being open):

In OALogin, select Admin> Login Options.

Clear the "Prevent Multiple Instances" check box and click OK.

Restart OALogin.
