ASAP probe acquisition error: Waiting for inlet start. Please reset the inlet system - WKB1897

SYMPTOMS

• ASAP probe acquisition does not start
• Error message: "Waiting for inlet start. Please reset the inlet system."

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.1
• ASAP probe

CAUSE

No LC is required/permitted when using an ASAP probe. The LC must be unconfigured, or the events and triggering must be turned off. The latter is the better option.  

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Go to the inlet editor and select Tools > Instrument configuration.
2. Select the Events and Triggering button at the bottom-right > Next.   
3. Clear the selection for Event In 1, and then select Next > Next > Finish > Finish.
4. Now, when you run from the sample list, it should not prompt you for details on the LC. You still need to fill in an inlet method and a bottle, but it won't use them.
