In MassLynx, MaxEnt 3 Processing Freezes - WKB13009

SYMPTOMS

• After starting to process spectrum data with MaxEnt 3, the software freezes.
• It worked with the same data the day before.
• Using the default.pro, HFN1.raw data set behaves the same way.

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.1 SCN 932
• Synapt G2-Si

CAUSE

MaxEnt 3 Advanced Parameters were set to the following:

• No. of Ensemble Members = 0
• Iterations per Ensemble Member = 0
• Compress Data = disabled

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. In the Spectrum window, go to the Process tab.
2. Click on MaxEnt 3.
3. Set parameters as desired, and then click Advanced:

4. On the MaxEnt 3 Advanced Parameters window, change the settings to recommended defaults of:

5. Click OK to exit the MaxEnt 3 Advanced Parameters window.

6. On the MaxEnt 3 window, click OK to begin processing.

Note: Once changed, you cannot go back to entering 0s for the number of ensemble members or iterations as the software will prompt you to enter a value between 1 and 100 (see below):
