Article number: 1281

ENVIRONMENT

  • MassLynx
  • Empower
  • ACQUITY UPLC
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
  • ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
  • ACQUITY UPLC M-Class
  • Alliance HPLC System

  • Inlet event logging
  • Inlet error codes

ANSWER

Inlet logs show status changes as numbers e.g. "MassLynx Status Changed from 0 to 2"
The Inlet Kernel status change codes are listed here:

0 = READY
1 = INITIATING_PRERUN
2 = WAITING_FOR_PRERUNACCEPT
3 = PRERUNNING
4 = INITIATING_RUN
5 = WAITING_FOR_RUNACCEPT
6 = RUNNING
7 = INITIATING_POSTRUN
8 = WAITING_FOR_POSTRUNACCEPT
9 = POSTRUNNING
10 = WAITING_FOR_AUTOSAMPLER_START
11 = WAITING_FOR_GRADIENT_ACCEPT
12 = ERROR

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

MassLynx 4.1 has an advanced inlet logging utility (InletEventLogConfiguration.exe) that automatically runs in the default conditions. When set to Debug/Information, it lists the state the instrument is in as it changes.

Examples:
Fri Jul 08 05:28:02 PM ,INFORMATION,DEBUG,InletKernel,"MassLynx Status Changed from 0 to 2"
Fri Jul 08 05:28:02 PM ,INFORMATION,DEBUG,InletFiniteStateMachine,"Inlet FSM with ID 3AA29F0 Changed state from 0 to 1"

...
Fri Jul 08 05:28:09 PM ,INFORMATION,DEBUG,InletFiniteStateMachine,"Inlet FSM with ID 3AA29F0 Changed state from 1 to 12"

This shows the instrument went from waiting for the prerun to start to an error state.
