Method Validation - Using the Method Validation Manager - Tip333

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Perform some simple tasks using the Method Validation Manager.

PROCEDURE

Follow the simple steps to carry out a study using the Method Validation Manager:

  • Attach the Sample Set
  • Process the Sample Set to produce a Result Set
  • Generate Validation Results

STEP 1
Here is a magnified view of the toolbar in the Validation Manager window. The tools we will use for this tip are highlighted (Figure 1).

STEP 2
When the data has been acquired, simply attach the Sample Set(s) to the appropriate test(s). Note that the Test Status displays SS Methods Incomplete, and all the fields at the bottom of the screen are empty. Click the Attach Sample Set tool (Figure 2).

STEP 3
Go to the Project window, highlight the Sample Set, and click Attach Sample Set (Figure 3).

STEP 4
The Test Status shows Result Sets Incomplete. The SSM Status and SS Status fields at the bottom of the window are now populated with green check marks (Figure 4).

STEP 5
Click Process Chromatographic Data. Select how you want to Process, and click OK (Figure 5).

STEP 6
Click Attach Result Set (Figure 6).

STEP 7
Go to the Project window, highlight the Result Set, and click Attach Result Set (Figure 7).

STEP 8
The Test Status shows Validation Results Incomplete, and the RS Status displays a green check mark at the bottom of the window (Figure 8).

STEP 9
Click Validation Process. Empower generates validation results, which are then automatically compared with the Acceptance Criteria set in the test (Figure 9).

STEP 10
The Test Status shows Test Complete, and the VR Status field displays a green check mark (Figure 10).
