Method Validation - Attaching Sample Set Methods and Sample Sets for Validation Protocols and Validation Studies - Tip332
OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Make working with the Method Validation Manager easier around Sample Set Methods and Sample Sets.
ENVIRONMENT

- Empower Tip of the Week #332
PROCEDURE
A Sample Set Method needs to be attached to each test when creating the validation protocol. Likewise, a Sample Set must be attached to each test when conducting a validation study.
Validation Protocols
STEP 1
A Sample Set Method from a non-validation project can be copied into a validation template project (figure 1).
STEP 2
Once the Sample Set Method has been copied into the validation template project, open the method, and select which injections will be used for which tests. Once that is done you can attach the Sample Set Method to the appropriate test(s) (figure 2).
STEP 3
You can create a Sample Set Method within the Validation Manager Window by selecting File, New, Sample Set Method. Once the method has been created you will need to select which injections will be used for which tests and the new Sample Set Method can be attached to the appropriate test(s) (figure 3).
Validation Studies
STEP 1
Likewise, a Sample Set which was collected in a non-validation project can be copied into a validation working project. You will need to alter the Sample Set to indicate which injections are to be used for which tests before attaching the Sample Set to the appropriate test(s) (figure 4).
STEP 2
A Result Set can be copied from a non-validation project into a validation working project. This too would need to be altered to indicate which injections go with which tests. The Result Set would need to be reprocessed and you could select Use Existing Integration. Once that has been done you can attach the Result Set to the appropriate test(s) (figure 5).
