Method set in Empower does not pick up channels from the instrument method using Thermo Vanquish Flex system - WKB99078

SYMPTOMS

• Empower does not pick up the channel to process using a method set

• The method set does not pick up channels from the instrument method, and it does not derive channel from PDA

• When processing is done, Empower processes every channel with the same method (for example, it processes the pressure channel with the UV integration parameters)

• Another issue is picking up the Width at Tangent, which is used for calculating USP Plate count; it uses width at 50% height for every single injection

ENVIRONMENT

• Thermo Vanquish Flex Quaternary system with Driver SII Version 1.1 
• Empower 3 Feature Release 3 Hotfix1 

CAUSE

Unknown 

FIX or WORKAROUND

Contact Thermo and apply Hotfix 111938 for SII for Empower 1.1, Dec 2019.

OR

Type in the channel name (exactly as it appears in Empower under the Channels tab) when creating a derived channel.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Waters is not involved with Thermo driver development and is not able to troubleshoot driver issues. Customers should contact Thermo directly and raise the issue. Waters can engage with Thermo or the customer on specific questions or in cases where Thermo has shown that the problem is not a driver issue.
