Empower error message after adding a 50-µL extended loop: "Please enter a value between 0 and 10 for this item" - WKB9454

SYMPTOMS

• In Empower Run Samples, there is an error for the injection volume entry after having added a 50-µL extended loop: "Please enter a value between 0 and 10 for this item"
• The needle size is 15 µL.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle (SM-FTN)
• Added and configured a 50-µL extension loop to increase injection volumes to 50 µL
• ACQUITY Arc

CAUSE

The 50-µL loop size was configured in the ACQUITY Console, but it did not take effect.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Briefly exit and reopen the ACQUITY Console.

If that does not resolve the issue, close Run Samples and log out of Empower. Then, launch Empower and the Run Samples window again.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This issue can also arise when adding a 100 and 250-µL extension loop.
