Agilent Plugin Server crash with Agilent LC systems on Agilent ICF driver - WKB89646

SYMPTOMS

• Instrument failure Agilent LC message appears in message center
• Communication Failure message appears in ICF log
• Windows Application Event Log shows Application Error with AgilentPluginServer.exe as the faulting application
• Windows Application Event Log shows .NET Runtime event with AgilentPluginServer.exe experiencing an unhandled exception

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Feature Release 4 workstation, Workgroup and Enterprise
• Agilent ICF 3.0 and later versions
• Agilent 1260 Infinity

CAUSE

Hardware module went to Resident mode.

Another possible issue would be the Agilent Plugin Server reaching close to 100% CPU usage.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Customer has to upgrade the ICF version to ICF 2.6 Update 2 and above
