Empower 3 Shimadzu LC error "Instrument Failure - End of run wait timed out at 1800.6 seconds. No reply from SPD-M20A." - WKB88886

SYMPTOMS

• If the run time is set to 10 minutes, timeout occurs in 1200 seconds (after 10 minutes of data acquisition, the instrument failure appears after 10 minutes)
• If the run time is set to 20 minutes, timeout occurs in 1800 seconds (after 20 minutes of data acquisition, the instrument failure appears after 10 minutes)
• If the run time is set to 30 minutes, timeout occurs in 2400 seconds (after 30 minutes of data acquisition, the instrument failure appears after 10 minutes)

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• Nexera/Prominence/LC-2010 Driver Version 4.4

CAUSE

Noise remained on the communication cable on the Shimadzu instrument side, not on the Empower/PC side.
Shimadzu engineer reconnected the cables and set the connection again, problem solved.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Confirm the "LC End Time" on the "Pump" tab of the instrument method.
   Set this time less than or equal to the "run time" for Empower sample set and single run.
   
   
2. If step 1 does not help, create a new project/sample set method/instrument method/method set
3. If step 2 does not help, it may not be a problem with Empower, please contact Shimadzu for assistance.
