Cannot specify split ratio in Agilent 7890 instrument method with Empower - WKB8782

SYMPTOMS

• Cannot specify or find split ratio in the instrument method 

ENVIRONMENT

• Agilent 7890
• Empower 3

CAUSE

1. In the Settings Tab > Column 1 > the Inlet is set to None.

FIX or WORKAROUND

 1. In the Instrument Method of Empower for 7890, go to Settings > Column 1 or 2 > Inlet > Front or Back. This adds a Front or Back Inlet tab under Settings.

 2. Under the Column 1 or Column 2 tab (whichever applies from step 1, go to Inlet Settings > Column Pressure Mode > Constant Flow > Put initial flow.

3. Click the Front or Back Inlet tab, whichever applies from step 1, and go to Settings > Inlet type and select Split/Splitless.

4. Specify split ratio under Split/Splitless.

5. Save method.
