Strange integration baseline observed with Thermo Dionex SII driver 1.1 - WKB85840

SYMPTOMS

  • Baseline may or may not span from peak start to peak end
  • Baseline may not intersect signal at peak start or peak end
  • Baseline drops negatively

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower
  • Thermo SII v1.1 instrument driver
  • Corona CAD detector

CAUSE

This is a defect with the SII Driver. It is corrected by Hotfix 111938 for SII For Empower 1.1 • Dec 2019 :
SII For Empower: Data points can be repeated if "Setup" is used prior to acquisition. In particular this can lead to problems when using Apex Tracking to evaluate data.

Customers are advised to contact Thermo Dionex if the provided hotfix does not resolve the issue.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Install Thermo Dionex Hotfix 111938 for SII For Empower 1.1

IMPORTANT: This will not resolve the issue with data already acquired. Once the HF is installed it prevents the issue only for future data acquired.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Waters is not involved with Thermo driver development and is not able to troubleshoot driver issues. Customers should contact Thermo directly and raise the issue. Waters can engage with Thermo or the customer on specific questions or in cases where Thermo has shown that the problem is not a driver issue.
