SYMPTOMS

  • QSM control panel is unavailable in the Empower Run Samples window
  • This occurs with multiple QSMs on one acquisition client
  • Can successfully ping the QSM modules
  • Cannot reset the QSM
  • Can control all other components of the ACQUITY UPLC H-Class system

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Bio
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Quaternary Solvent Manager (QSM)
  • Empower 3
  • Empower Enterprise

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Close all Empower windows.
  2. Double-click and run the StopAcquityprocesses.cmd. (See article 13593.) 
  3. Reboot the acquisition client (PC) and the system in the correct order. (See article 1507.)
  4. Launch Empower. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Some scenario removing instruments from the computer, then reinstalling Waters driver pack and configuring chromatography system issue fixed.
