When an LDAP user logs in to Empower and receives the message "Logon failure: unknown username or bad password", is it possible to determine if it is the username or the password that is wrong? - WKB8072

Article number: 8072

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower

ANSWER

No, it is not possible to determine if it is the username or the password that is wrong.

If using LDAP authentication, check the Empower Configuration Manager LDAP system policy. In the LDAP Domain Manager, Edit button for the selected domain, click on the Test Directory Server Access button to check for a successful connection. If not successful, confirm that the Domain Access Username and Domain Access Password are still working and are not disabled or expired.
