ANSWER

SmartBear and Sentinel LDK License Manager were installed with previous Empower versions and employed services named TestComplete and Sentinel LDK License Manager. Both are used only for our automated validation testing (AVT) tool.

TestComplete is the service used for Smart Bear.

Both the TestComplete and Sentinel LDK License Manager services can be stopped and set to disabled.

Services may appear as follows:

• Sentinel LDK License Manager
• Sentinel HASP License Manager
• TestComplete 8
• TestComplete 10
• TestComplete 11

IMPORTANT - Do not uninstall these components. Empower verify files will fail.

NOTE: Issues encountered with the services include high CPU usage, Network-wide broadcasts and older versions may be identified as security threats in AV software.
