OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Archive the current listener log and create a new Oracle Listener log.

Customers with a Waters embedded license can move or rename the file when the size limit is reached. Oracle will create a new log.

Drive:\Empower\Oracle\diag\tnslsnr\OracleServiceName\listener\trace\listener.log

Waters advises customers to set alerts in WDM for the alert and listener log size to allow prompt management.

Additionally, see WKB228406 for a batch file that can automate the management through a scheduled task.

Oracle recommends that you keep the listener log below 10 Mb.

Severe issues can arise above 1.0 Gb, but even approaching 100 Mb can cause trouble.
