Agilent GC 7890 with ALS only runs the first injection using Empower - WKB76160

SYMPTOMS

• When running a sample set using Agilent GC 7890 with Autosampler, the first injection successfully completes. However, when the instrument's oven temperature is ready for the second injection, the software becomes unresponsive at "Prepare for injection".
• This only occurs in a Temperature Program situation.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Software
• A7890 ICS v2.6

CAUSE

Oven Temperature Ready is ignored.

The "Oven temp is not ready (Ignored)" message appears on the panel of the A7890.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Press CONFIG on the panel and select OVEN.
   
2. Type "Ignore Ready", and then select "Module Readiness Active".
   

Note: It should look like this.

3.  Delete GC system in Empower and recreate system

4. Create a new Instrument Method from the project window, a) Save <new> or b) Save As (and overwrite a method)
