What is the "Old ID" field in Empower 3? - WKB76039

Article number: 76039

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower 3

ANSWER

In Empower 3, there is a new field called "Old ID" in the processing method. This field is blank by default in all new and existing
methods.

When a processing method that has been modified in Review, QuickStart, or in the
processing method editor without changing its integration parameters is saved with the same
name, copy the original id of the method into this new field before you save the method. When
result sets or results that were originally processed with the unmodified processing method are
reprocessed using existing integration, the modified version of the processing
method will be used to calibrate or quantitate the new results instead of the original
unmodified processing method.

When changing the processing method, the processing method tabs that do not affect
integration parameters include the following: Components, Impurity, Peak Ratios (MS Ion Ratios), Default
Amounts/Purity, Named Groups, Timed Groups, and Limits. So, if no changes are made to
these tabs when saving the processing method, the Old ID value for the saved method will
not have a value.

Add a new field to the result—Integration PM Id—to hold the original processing method’s id. This
field is blank by default in all new and existing results. In the result, the id of the original
processing method (which was used to integrate the result) is copied into the Integration
PM Id field and the id of the modified processing method (which was used to calibrate or
quantitate the result) is copied into the Processing Method Id field for the result.
When a result is calibrated or quantitated with a processing method different than that it was
integrated with, an I41 processing code is added to the Result Codes field.
Copying processing methods to a different project will clear the Old Id. Also, copying results
(or result sets) to a different project will clear the Integration PM Id, but the I41 processing
code will remain in the Result Codes field.
