With Empower 3, how to move project data to a new drive - WKB74645
Article number: 74645
OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Move project data from one drive to another, and then access the data from the new drive.
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower 3 Personal
- Empower 3 Enterprise
PROCEDURE
- Create an Empower\projects directory on the D drive.
- Go to Configure System > View > Manage Raw Data Paths and change the default path from C:\empower\projects to D:\Empower\projects.
- Test the path to make sure it's valid.
- Copy the entire C:\Empower\Projects folder to D:\Empower\Projects. (Easier to do it this way than with step 5.)
- Highlight all the projects, right-click, and select Move Project Data.
- Enter the new location but do not copy the raw data (that was already done in step 4).
- Rename the old directory on C.
- Open a project and view data. If you obtain the chromatogram, the move was successful.
- Delete the old data from Drive C.
