Empower Toolkit application does not recognize fields when run on an Empower node that is not installed as English - WKB71971

SYMPTOMS

• Empower Toolkit application does not recognize field names when run on Empower installed as Chinese

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 installed as Chinese, Japanese, or Korean
• Empower Toolkit application

CAUSE

• Empower translates field names into the language for which Empower is installed on the node where it is being run.
• When running a non-English version of Empower, a Toolkit application may not work properly when comparing English field names in the Toolkit application to the field name retrieved from a non-English Empower node running Toolkit.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Field names should not be hard coded as English in a Toolkit application if they are expected to be used for comparison on an Empower node that is not English.
2. Field name comparison should be done based on finding the correct field in the fields list based on the field's resource ID and/or its index in the list of fields.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Empower can be installed as English, Chinese, Japanese, or Korean.
