How to Collect the Agilent ICF logs and Lab Advisor diagnostic buffer Logs - WKB65971

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Capture all of the available diagnostic data and logs immediately after you encounter an instrument error.

  • ICFSL v3.0 and above

PROCEDURE

The Agilent diagnostic buffers and logs can be captured in multiple ways. 

NOTE: Collect logs before restarting the LAC/E or acquisition client to help investigate the root cause.

IMPORTANT - Collect the Agilent Diagnostic logs immediately after the incident and before rebooting the instrument modules.

 

For ICFSL v3.0 - v3.1

  1. Run the AgilentLogfileCollecter.exe - C:\Empower\Instruments\AgilentLC\Support\Agilent.DriverLogFileCollector.exe
  2. Use Agilent LabAdvisor to collect the Agilent Diagnostic logs

Additionally, in the Run Samples window there is a tab for diagnostic logs; print or copy to Notepad and save.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

IMPORTANT - The diagnostic logs are immediately overwritten when the instrument modules are rebooted. If the logs are not captured, they will be lost, greatly reducing the chances of identifying the root cause of the instrument error. The files will be zipped up and may go to the documents folder in Windows.
