How do I process three different wavelengths with one processing method? - WKB6581

Article number: 6581

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

How to use one processing method to process a sample with multiple lambda max points.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower
  • Empower 2
  • Empower 3

PROCEDURE

  1. Open the method set that will be used for processing.
  2. Make sure the correct instrument method is selected at the top of the method set.
  3. Create a derived channel for the first wavelength needed.
  4. Create additional derived channels for each wavelength needed.
  5. Choose the same processing method for each dervied channel.
  6. Save the method set.
  7. Open the processing method.
  8. Click on the "components" tab.
  9. Add the name of each component present in the sample.
  10. In the "channel" column to the right of the component's name, select the derived channel that was created for that component.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Make sure that the integration parameters used in the processing method will integrate all of the components in the sample. This can usually be tested by first applying the processing method to a Max Plot chromatogram. Any peak present in the channel will get integrated, but only the peak that corresponds to the viewed channel will be identified.
