6890 back injector parameters are dimmed (unavailable) in the Empower instrument method - WKB65622

SYMPTOMS

• 6890 back injector parameters are dimmed (unavailable) in the instrument method
• Front injector parameters are functional
• Agilent Instrument Control Framework 3.1 recently installed
• In PreConfiguration, only the front injector is detected 
• The 6890 identifies the back injector on the front panel

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower
• Agilent 6890 GC
• Agilent Instrument Control Framework v3.1

CAUSE

PreConfiguration was not updated when a hardware change took place on the 6890. 

FIX or WORKAROUND

Reconfigure the 6890 using the Agilent PreConfiguration utility to identify the back injector.
