Incomplete run over weekend with Empower and Agilent LC 1100 - WKB64809

SYMPTOMS

• Sequence is incomplete; random drop after 38 injections
• Recover.log is clean
• Message center is clean
• Windows event logs are clean

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Feature Release 1 Enterprise
• Module G1311A; firmware version A.05.11
• Module G1313A; firmware version A.05.11; syringe size 100
• Module G1314A;  firmware version A.05.11
• Module G1316A; firmware version A.05.11
• Agilent 1100
• Agilent LC Instrument Control Software Version 1.06

CAUSE

• On the LAC/E, two systems are connected. 
• System 1 shows the communication failure message "IOThreadProc: Agilent LC Communication failure waiting for single object.A1100_TIMEOUT", which affected System 2 running on the LAC/E. 
• This timeout error can happen while running, when any parameter is unable to reach the set point in a defined time. 
   

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Check conditions prior to run. 
2. Don't connect multiple systems at the same time.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Cause is determined from the Empower Acquisition log (Open injection via the report publisher > Look for the Acquisition log in report on the left-hand side).
